Mike Avila

After a 15 yr association with the Walt Disney Company, Mike began as partner and music director at The Imagination House in Orlando, Florida where he produces and composes several projects worldwide each year.

Among his credits are an original orchestral score for the bicentenary celebration of the stories of Hans Christian Anderson, Music director for the Marian Anderson Awards, Composer for Peter Pan’s Neverland for Universal Studios Osaka for which his was a TEA award recipient, SeaWorld Parks 50th anniversary celebration, SeaWorld’s Turtle Trek 3D, 360 dome movie and SeaWorld’s Antarctica expansion project 2013 for which was the composer and Music Director overseeing the music production, audio installation and sound design.

Notable Walt Disney Entertainment projects include: Disney’s “Boo to You” Halloween parade, the “Once Upon a Christmastime” Parade and annual Christmas Day ABC special, the opening dedication ceremonies for Hong Kong Disneyland, the Disney Cinema Parade in Paris, and many shows for Tokyo Disneyland including the Tokyo Disney 25th Anniversary Celebration.

Through the years, Mike has created the music and assembled the team for several shows on Norwegian, Disney and Royal Caribbean Cruise lines including the RCCL “Virtual Concert and Orchestra” series for which he was music producer working with several members of the national symphony in Washington, DC to create a one of a kind, concert series experience bringing an 80 piece orchestra to Royal Caribbean guests world wide in a virtual Super HD environment.

As music producer/arranger, he has also worked on many projects for Nickelodeon and Disney Channel properties such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dora the Explorer, Phineas and Ferb and the Muppets. Mike also was happy to be part of the music team for the Macy’s NYC 4th of July fireworks celebration on NBC with an orchestral piece arranged for Gospel singer Ce Ce Winans.

Over the past 20 years, his love for producing and composing has brought him to several amazing locations and studios including: Capitol Records, Abbey Road Studios, Paramount Studios Scoring Stage, Skywalker Ranch, The Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Brothers Studios, and several other locations in Seattle, Washington DC, and Nashville.

His work at the Imagination House, involves managing teams of talented musicians, copyists, engineers and producers from all over the US, as well as the music department’s “in house” facilities team.
